2 months today!

Happy 2 month's baby girl! It is crazy to think back of all the changes in just the past month! You weigh around 11 lbs according to our scale at home (go to the dr. next week)
Here are some 2 month things that we love about you:
-Sometimes when you want attention but you don't want to cry, you will do this big breath/fake cough. It is the cutest thing in the whole world!
-You love going around town with mom. We go on walks, lunch dates with friends, run errands, and more! You sleep great in your car seat, but if you are awake you are talking away to me and wide eyed taking in all of the places!

-Sometimes when you are really upset (which is very rare, it is only when you are hungry at night) you snort when you cry. Daddy and I cant help but laugh at you while you are crying this way!
-The best smiles you give are in the mornings. I let daddy get you out of your crib on weekend days so that he gets to smile with you!

He then will sneak you downstairs and let mommy sleep some more. Yall have a daddy/daughter morning. He loves you so much and is the best daddy! Kisses with daddy is still his favorite! You will turn your head because his beard scratches your face, but I know secretly you love it! Being a daddy's girl is the best!

-You are definitely more mobile this month. You have found your hands and love to stare at them intently like they are some new invention! You like to suck on them with the whole hand in your mouth when you are hungry, its so cute but at the same time so sad because I know you are super hungry!
-Speaking of being mobile sometimes mommy comes in to get you in your crib and you are turned 90 degress completely! It amazes me how you manage this, but I know its from all those kicks you give when you are getting settled to sleep or waking up.
-If you wake up crying, I know you are still tired or something is wrong (rare, but if it happens it is because you are usually hot, you sweat like your daddy) So I let you cry for a few seconds and you are right back to sleep. Then you wake up happy and talking while you wait patiently for mommy to come get you.
-Since you have found the wonderful invention of your hands, you have just started to bat at things. When I lay you under your play mat or in your car seat you will bat at the toys that are in front of you! GENIUS on our hands!
-We call you Houdini sometimes. You got out of your swaddle almost every time so we stopped swaddling your hands down, and then a few weeks later stopped swaddling all together! You like to be free!
-You have been napping like a big girl this month! Mommy calls it baby boot camp but you are succeeding like a champ! We try to stay home when its time to nap and you are napping in your crib each time. Mommy rocks you for a few minutes and puts you down wide awake. You fuss for maybe 1-2 minutes and then you are out! I am so proud of you! Sometimes you don't even fuss and just talk and play until it wears you out a few minutes later. You like your right side to sleep on, but if you end up on your back you like your hands up like a touchdown!

-You love your bath! You make the cutest faces and hold your hands really close to your body. You hate to get our and cry because you are cold and HATE lotion time before PJs.

-You LOVE to sit up, even though you are still too little. You love for daddy to hold you sitting up on his knees and you even love the bumbo for a few minutes. I think its because you are so observant and like to see everything going on. You hold your head up great and have been since you were just a week or 2 old so the sitting up things works great!

-You LOVE being outside. Sometimes we sit and wait on daddy to get home or will go out there if you are fussy before night time. We think you might be allergic to pollen, because you sneeze lots when you are out!

-You are doing amazing at night sleeping! You have slept 8-9 hours in the past week. Last night you went from 7-4:45! You wake up before that for your paci but go right back to sleep!

-There have been a couple of instances that we have scared you by playing with you. You quiver your lower lip and its so sad but so cute! Once daddy lifted you high in the air and it scared you and we caught it on camera!

We love you so much baby girl! Mommy is going to start taking anxiety meds asap to get her through this next dr. appt with 4 shots! I know you will be strong for her!

Scared.

Wow...what a week. Last week my sweet daddy had skin cancer biopsies..notice the red face after they burnt his face off to zap the cancer...
The day after that, he had a biopsy on his prostate after having a high PSA count...we were told to wait a week for the results...and this week we got the results...He has cancer.
Prostate Cancer. I hate the C word. I am devastated! My parents are being so strong and I am trying to be. The tears are flowing as I type this. I am a daddy's girl. My dad means the world to me. We have so many memories together not even to count. From fishing on Kingsley lake as a child, to him painting my nails, teaching me to drive, walking me down the aisle,

and to the most recent introducing him to his first grandchild...

The good news is the doctor thinks we caught it early. They took 18 biopsies and only one had the cancer. Him and mom meet with the dr. next Thursday to discuss his options (radiation or surgery). I just want my daddy healthy. I know that prostate cancer is one of the most curable cancers and I rest in that. I know God is in control. 1 in 6 men get prostate cancer, scary! Please pray for my sweet daddy! I dont want him in pain, but more importantly I am not ready to lose him! Lord, please heal him quickly!

1st DR. visit

I think I was more nervous than she was...doctor's office have always made me sick to my stomach. I walk in and I immediately think I have to get a shot. I HATE shots. and what's worse than a shot? Watching your baby as she is about to get one and she has NO idea and than BAM! The worst feeling in the world! She was such a champ though, she only cried for a few seconds and once I held her she was fine. She did have to get a heal price too, which was not as bad, but she still did not like it! Poor thing.

This was her in the waiting room...my stomach in knots, her just hanging out...

Getting ready and she has NO clue :(

Yawning thinking she is getting pretty comfortable and might take a nap...

BAM! So sad! and SO MAD!

All better with clothes on, ready to leave this place!

Poor thing with her band-aid on her heal. Atleast it is OVER! whew!

One month old stats:
9 lb. 11 oz
15.5 in. head circumference
21.5 inches long
Dr. guessed 50-75 percentile since they don't do that for 1 month olds.

2nd month check up is coming up May 7th and I DREAD it! Poor thing has to get FOUR shots! Who are these cruel people??????

Marking down Memories

I have got to start recording things about Mae that I know are going to leave my crazy, scattered mind soon! This forgetfulness and lack of efficiency are the REAL thing, people were not lying! So hear it goes:

-I love your "O" face. It is so serious and so cute! You make a little O shape with your mouth and your daddy and I think you are the cutest when you do this!
-Daddy loves to say "kisses" and kiss you on the lips, you give great kisses back!
-YOU LOVE MAE'S SHUTTERS! We have 2 shutters mounted on the wall above our couch. Ever since day one you have been MESMERIZED by these and will look at them if you have to strain you neck to see them! Any time you are fussy we put you near the shutters and you are then calm! amazing!
-When you sleep, you always roll onto your right side, even if we put you in all other kinds of positions.
-You loved the orange paci. when you were in the hospital, but now your favorite one is a pink one with an M on it. You definitely can tell the difference from ANY other one and won't have none of it!
-You love to snuggle in bed with mommy and daddy on weekend mornings.
-You have found your hands and love sucking on them! You try to stick your whole hand in there sometimes! i am hoping you find your thumb soon so we don't have to track down that pink paci!
-You love the car and your car seat!
-We have found a pinkish/red birthmark on your scalp in your part...wonder if it will stay?
-You have learned to cluster feed at night before bed. YOU set your bed time at 7ish and let us know when it is time! A girl after he mom's own heart going to bed early! Even if you have eaten an hour before, you are ready for daddy to give you a bottle and go night night! Mom always sits on the bed and watches while she pumps your next night's feeding.

-You are the happiest and most smiley in the morning when mommy or daddy come in to get you for the day! It is like you have not seen us in years!
-You love your crib and have been sleeping at night in it from the first night! We are so proud of you! You are starting to nap in it too, since you sleep better there and like it so much!
-You only cry when you are past your feeding time or tired. The cry for feeding is loud and piercing, the cry for sleep is more of a whine and tired cry. Your eyes get glassy when you are tired!--We have tried a few formula bottles on you just to see. You don't really care for it, so we don't push it.
-You help mommy lose her baby weight by loving going on walks. You love to be outside. If you are fussy and its not time to eat yet, you will sit with mommy on the front porch for hours!

We love you so much K. Mae! Hope these memories last a lifetime!

He is Risen!

Easter could not have been any more special. We spent Mae's first holiday just the 3 of us. We took her to church for the first time and she did great! She slept through the LOUD music, drank a bottle, and went back to sleep! I loved holding her throughout the service, looking down at her, and continuing to thank my wonderful Savior for the blessing He has given us. It was one of the most surreal moments thus far!
Mae got an Easter basket from my mom (still debating on her grandmother name, Granna maybe?) the stuffed animal bunnies are from her Gerry (great grandmother), the basket on the right is from the EASTER BUNNY! I made sure there was a bathing suit in there, my Grammy always gave us a bathing suit for Easter and I want to pass that tradition down to my children each year as well!
