I found these pillows for 2 bucks at the thrift store. They looked brand new and never used, BUT I still got major grossed out. I found this fabric at a local fabric store and decided to cut up the thrift store ones, use the stuffing and create my own! Here are the pics as I went along:

This was my first Christmas away from my family and I MADE IT! I am so thankful for my inlaws and we had a wonderful Christmas celebrating our savior. On Thursday before Christmas, my parents came in town and we celebrated together! I made a pinterest meal (Rosemary pork loin, broccoli bake, corn souffle, rolls, biscuit rolled sausage for an appetizer, ice cream and cookies. We had a great time! I am so thankful great family time on both sides! Hope everyone had a great holiday! Now off to pack for BRECKENRIDGE COLORADO!

So, everyone keeps posting what they are thankful for on facebook and I realized it too late, SO for the month of November, I want to list my top 5 thankful list! So much to be thankful for at this stage in my life...however these are ones that are a constant reminder daily.

1. I am thankful for Jesus. Not only does He get me

through the day, but also comforts me in anxious times, which I have had a LOT of lately.

I am also thankful for my new bible study group and the girls that I have met through it. I am thankful for the new churches we are trying in Auburn. We love COH, but feel led to see what else is out there.

2. The most amazing, comforting, caring, funny, cute, helpful husband I could ever ask for. I hate to admit that before we were married I never thought it could be this wonderful. He has made my life better than I could ever have imagine. I love doing 'life' with him. in 11 days it will be 2 years. CRAZY!

3. I am thankful for my family. My parents have shown such a great illustration of a great marriage for Ryan and I. I am a daddy's girl and my mom is

my best friend. I could not ask for more.I am thankful for my brother, Travis. We go in spurts where we are close and when we are not. He helps keep me grounded and he has come SUCH a long way in his life that I am such a proud sister and I am honored to call him my brother!

4. I am thankful for my inlaws. I had the luxury of knowing them VERY well b

efore we got married due to our marathon dating plan, and I am so thankful for the role they play in my life.

ost generous, thoughtful people. I honestly look forward to spending time with th

em, always. I am also thankful for my brother and sister in law and they gave us an adorable neice and nephew on the way!

5 I am thankful for our friends. It is crazy how friends come and go, change, and get st

ronger. God has blessed me with strong, lasting friendships. I miss those that we have strayed away, but am blessed beyond belief for those that are always there for me, KNOW me, and love me anyway. Lately I realize how Ryans friends and their wives are such a blessing to us and we have loved enjoying life with them and look forward to many more fun times ahead.

We had a blast in NOLA..We went to Mobile first and had dinner with friends and enjoyed New Orleans Friday. On Saturday we went to Baton Rouge on a bus with friends and it was a blast! The game was awful but we had fun anyway!

Ryan and I have had a perfect Saturday so far! Chili is in the crockpot, Ryan played Golf this morning and I went antiquing! I started off at Resurrect, an antique store, in Opelika.

I found this which I love, LOVE, love! Ryan is lucky I only got what I got, I could have bought the whole store! I am really kind of over my wrought iron look, and really like the rustic/natural look.

We had a blast with friends at Courtney and Jim's wedding in Montgomery. It was nice how close it was to Auburn, yet for fun we got a hotel room to be able to enjoy all the fun! Friday night we enjoyed the cocktail rehearsal party, Saturday the Lingerie shower/breakfast for the girls and golf for the boys, and then the beautiful wedding at the Austin home. Great way to start off the football season with our tailgate friends!

Great Month!

The Lord has blessed Ryan and I so much this past month! I can't help but reflect back and be so thankful for it! Here is why:

-We had a great family trip with my family at a lake that hold's so many memories for my family in Florida.

-I am loving my job, my new grade, and school.

-Ryan got a BONUS from his project in Huntsville. I am SO proud of him!

-I got promoted with WH, I am no longer a consultant, nor a senior design consultant, but now a group leader! My next goal is Senior Group Leader and then Director! I am so thankful for my loyal customers, those that have hosted parties, and my friends and family's support! Email me if you want Sept. sales!

-We got great news on refinancing my house in Birmingham and have a great renters!

-I spent 40 at Publix this week and saved 58!

-We had a fun weekend in Montgomery celebrating Courtney and Jim's wedding with friends. We attended a rehearsal cocktail party, I went to the lingerie shower, and we enjoyed golf, pool, wedding fun, and friends!

-We enjoyed our first dinner at AU club and pool visit and are excited about meeting new people and enjoying the amenities.

-My grandmother's tumor has not grown, which is great news!

-We have made new friends in AU and have had a blast with old friends!

-I won a giveaway for FREE! I never win anything like that!

-I got a letter in the mail from one of my past students that made my MONTH! It's amazing what an impact some kids have on you! :)

1st to 5th

I have grown up this summer, from 1st grade to 5th. This week was the first week of school and it went great! I have prayed for these sweet 10-12 year olds all summer and am so excited to impact their lives educationally and hopefully in other ways as well. Here are SOME of them.

I have a homeroom of 26, but 80 total 5th graders that I teach 5th grade math to. I am so blessed to be at such a great school system, great school, and great faculty. I met about 8 other co-workers Friday at Laredo's (Mexican spot) after work. It is fun getting to know them and I look forward to a great year!

Ryan and I were honored when his brother, Garrett, asked us to come visit him at his church again. Garrett is the youth minister at Lakeview Methodist is Pelham. If you are looking for a church in that area, I hope you visit them! Garrett has done an amazing job with their youth and was asked to speak the sermon on Sunday as well as lead worship. He did a wonderful job and Ryan and I could not be more proud to call him family! We are proud of you Garrett, the man, husband, and dad you have become! Thank you for bringing us Martha, Grace, and of course, this little one:

Since the big move, I have not been couponing as much as I have wanted to. I was trying to clear out and eat what we had before we moved, then once we moved in it was just easier to buy things for just a few days or go out to eat. So...TODAY, I am back in the game. I did go to Kroger and Publix, but bought ALL of this for 66 bucks! I am pumped! I got meat too, which isnt usually in a ticket that low! Check it out:

Summer Fun Continues

This summer has been full of busy days, but also full of fun times. My best friend Amy came up to Auburn to spend the night with me. We then left bright and early and went to Market in Atlanta! It was overwhelming but so fun! This is a view of just one of the 3 huge buildings!Amy owns a business, so I got to be her guest. She was so excited and bought so much! I was just along for the ride!
We were LOADED down with bags! It was so fun! We are going back again one of these days!
Ryan and I have enjoyed Auburn's restaurant's and bars. We have gone out with friend's and just us. Last night we enjoyed watching the National Championship re-run at Moe's bbq and enjoyed our time together!
Ryan's sweet dad, Max, came in town to spend the day with us, while his wife Becky is at the family house in Maine with her mother. We went to lunch, toured Auburn's campus, snuck into the football stadium, visited the new arena, and stalked Auburn's football camp for recruits. Then we went to a nice dinner, courtesy of Max, my ffil :)
This week, I am off to Birmingham for some much needed mom time, 2 Willow House parties, and some friend time. Then back to Auburn for my launch Willow House party! Have a great week!

We had a wonderful 4th of July. Ryan and I invited our best friends from Huntsville to go to Jacksonville with us! We road on the boat, ate good food, relaxed in the pool, played golf, went to Ponte Vedra, and more! We started the trip off at Amsterdam's in Auburn the night before we left :)

This summer I have had the privelege of seeing some of my kids again from my class last year! They are so sweet and I am so blessed to have had them in my class this year!

I went to Tabory, Colton, and Anna Katherine's swim meet. They did great!

Madeline and Jane came over for some QT with me! We went to the mall and jumped too!

I am so thankful for these 6-7 year olds that made my year with them worth every second! It is going to be a major change to 5th grade, but I am ready for the challenge!

Bitter Sweet...

We had a great Father's Day weekend in Birmingham with my family. Ryan's parents were on their way back from their 2 week trip to Europe. Friday night we went to La Paz with the Morrows and soon to be Carson's. Then we went to Dram. Saturday, Mom and I went furniture shopping for our new house and found some great steals at some antique shops. Ryan watched golf with dad and helped him with his computer. We even went on a family run at Spain Park! I am impressed with how active my parents still are! We cooked out and really enjoyed having my parents to ourselves. Sunday, Ryan and I got some much needed alone time together, hence we live in 2 different cities. So we watched golf together, ALL day. Go Rory! I snuck away for brunch with my friends Sarah Neale, Donna, Amanda, and Nicole. I miss Sarah Neale so much and am looking forward to my trip to ATL in July. Sunday night Ryan and I had one last date night before we split ways. I stopped by quickly to see one of my favorite families! The Bennett's/Dekle's/Gibbs. I got to see my favorite kiddo's and catch up!

We are moving to AU in less than a week and could not be any more excited! AT THE SAME TIME, we are so sad to leave our friends here in Huntsville. We have had a blast eating dinners together, cooking out, ice cream trips, pool time, concerts in the park, happy hour, and girls night outs. We look forward to our 2 going away parties this weekend as well! I have a feeling some tears might start flowing...

These girls mean so much to me, I can not even explain! I moved here right after we were married knowing NO one. Thankfully, through a few slight connections we formed out group and we have so much fun together! From beach trips, supper club, movies, lake trips, etc. I am reminded of how thankful I am for these girls and our memories we have made! I am excited about our trip to New Orleans soon!

Grammy

I am so sad to report my sweet, tiny grammy has lung cancer. She called me yesterday to tell me the news. She of course had me in tears, but laughing as well! She said, Leighton, I will be fine. I told the doctor to just give me Morephine and Martini's! Ha! That's my Grammy! Please pray we get some more time with her and that she goes peacefully. We have a family trip planned in August with her. Ryan and I are going to Jacksonville with another couple for the 4th of July and we are going to sneak over to see her then too. I am my grandmother's only granddaughter and I feel blessed to call her Grammy!

Time is passing so quickly and lots of things are getting closer:

-End of school! I am loving my class so much and will miss them next year!

-We are really trying to soak up our time in Huntsville! Our time to move is getting closer and leave here. We have been to the Huntsville Stars minor league games, the Whistlestop barbque fest, movies with friends, cookouts, etc. We are so sad to leave here!

Here we are at Whistlestop downtown. We were with our big group of Huntsville friends, but somehow I didnt get a picture of all of us! :(

-We are getting so much closer to moving to Auburn! Ryan moves in June and will live in a hotel until we rent or sell our house. We had decided we were going to rent it out becuase we have people knocking down our door to rent...BUT we had 3 people come see the house yesterday, someone is coming BACK today, and a new person Monday. PRAY it works out! We would LOVE to sell it! We are excited to move to AU in such a short time. Ryan just called and said we are soon to be members of the Auburn University Club! They have golf, swim, TENNIS, and dining! I am so excited! Come visit us!

Well we did another one! Me and 3 friends completed the Music Moves Me 5k race this past Saturday. I didnt train for this one and was glad I ran the whole thing. It was fun doing it with friends and we motivated each other at the end to keep goign! Ryan, Joey, and Finley came to cheer us on at the finish line! Then we went to the pool and saw Bridesmaids! Hilarious!!!! Great weekend!

We had a wonderful mother's day with our mom's in Huntsville. They so graciously drove up here to see us. Ryan and I both cooked a meal for them and our dad's got to join in too :) We made chicken kabobs, salad, and dirty brown rice. We also made a chocolate chip pound cake with ice cream for them. We gave them earrings we bought for them in Puerto Rico and had fun spending time with family we love so much. We appreciate our moms so much! They are very different from each other and we love them for that! Between the 2 of them, we have the best moms in the world! Happy Mother's Day!

Dad and I went and got sale balloons for our open house! Pray it sells soon PLEASE! We had 2 families comes yesterday and one wants to lease to purchase. We are going to hold out and hopefully someone else will buy it!

Prayer

I woke up with one of the worst emails ever to wake up to today. One of my best friends, Natalie, informed me that our friend, Austin Lacey, had passed away last night. I do not know Austin very well, but know he was a great man, loved by many. His wife, Haley and I have been friends since college but I do not stay in touch with her as much. Regardless, my heart is so heavy today for her. I attended their wedding one month before Ryan and I got married. 9 months after they were married, Austin her husband, was daignosed with cancer. He survived 9 more months. I post this for one reason only, but to pray. Please pray for Austin's parents, Haley, and their family and friends. I can not imagine what they are going through. Our God is strong, sovereign, and mighty. His plan is perfect. Sometimes its so hard to not question why he would do this to such a sweet couple, but I pray and hope they rest in His comfort.

Tomorrow we will be married for 1 year and 6 months. I have a very talented mother of a student in my class that so graciously took pictures of us. Craziest Day of MY LIFE!

It all began 1 month ago when I had the great idea of surprising my dad on his 60th birthday. I went ahead way in advance and took a personal day, got a sub for my class, and completed sub plans. I planned with my mom how I was going to surprise dad and Ryan had a golf tournament in Birmingham so it worked out we would go together. Well, little did I know, my whole plan would change so quick and so drastically!

On Sunday before my dad's birthday, my friend who teaches in Auburn mentioned to me about coming to meet her principal the next time I was in town. Well, I got a GREAT idea, I THOUGHT! I would take dad on his birthday to Auburn (one of our favorite places to be) and we could shop around for houses and eat at our favorite bar-b-que place. Then I could just QUICKLY jump in for 5 minutes to meet the principal while we were there. I love to multi-task :)I got to bham and took both of my parents to dinner Monday night. I told dad our plan of going to Auburn and he was so excited! We started the day off with our tradition of father/daughter breakfast and took off for Auburn. On the way down there, my friend who teaches, mentioned that I needed to apply at Auburn schools and go through a screening interview...SO...I thought since we are going to Auburn anyway, while I was in the car I could start working on that. I called my SWEET school in Huntsville and both the secretary and principal who I owe my life to, were digging through all of my portfolios, interview binders, resumes, etc. They scanned all my documents in and emailed them to me so I could have them in Auburn. I was on the phone with Huntsville City schools getting paperwork, Auburn City schools finding out what I needed, phone ringing off the hook, dad driving and answering happy birthday calls...it was already starting to become hectic and it wasn't even 8:00am yet.

So we arrive to Auburn and go to 2 houses I had made appoinments to. I liked them both alot. Here is a picture of one quick shot I got...who knows if we will end up with either one, but it was a good start.
We go the house next door which was for sale by owner. The sweet lady showed us her house and I look down at my watch and realize I am supposed to meet that princiapl in 10 minutes! My heart was in my stomach...for those of you that know me I am NEVER late. I start to panic! Dad rushes out to the car, gets my suit, heels, and makeup, the sweet lady lets me change in her house and I had only met her 5 minutes before! ha! awkward for us both I am sure! She then lets us use her computer and PRINT off all the papers my sweet principal sent me so I could give them to the next principal. i think I owe my life to her as well. We rush to the school (seriously running) and of course get lost. It is a new school in Auburn and I didnt know exactly where it was. I rush into the principal's office meet her for 5 seconds and we talk about how she can not interview me until I get my stuff squared away at the board. I could just come back another time to do all of that. I figured since we were already in Auburn, though, I could go ahead and take my stuff to the board and be done with it and my dad and I could enjoy his birthday as planned...WRONG!!!!!!!! We go to the board, the sweet lady who I had been on the phone with all morning, puts me on a computer and lets me finish my application right there on the spot. She then says, normally we dont do this, but we have moved around our schedule and can go ahead and interview you now to be screened. I called dad in the parking lot. He said 'sure! I am enjoying the pretty weather and making work calls, Good luck, you will do great!" I go to my interview. It goes great! As I finish they tell me the principal wants me back at her school to interview me in 15 minutes! WHAT??!?! I didnt even know any of this was going to happen and my sweet daddy is driving me all around Auburn on his birthday!! I felt so bad, but was excited too. I go to see dad in the parking lot to tell him how sorry I was this had turned into this, he said "its fine I am glad you are getting this done and I am happy for you..BUT we have a problem..my car wont start!!!" Keep in mind I had to be at the principals office in 15 minutes!! Dad finally gets his car started, AAA takes FOREVER to get there and dad pays him 20 dollars to follow us to the school so I can be on time. HA!!! We then FLY in his truck to the school with a maintenece putter car trying to keep up! I rush into the school, interview with the principal and she hires me on the spot! wahoo! What good news after this hectic day! I run out to the car to tell him I was hired and we laughed the entire way to lunch as we rehashed the day and all its details! Its a day I will never forget and a birthday he claims was his favorite! Nothing better than daddy daughter time, I guess no matter how you spend it!

We were back to Birmingham by 2:00 for my mom to haul him off again to a bed and breakfast! whew!

We have officially heard from Ryan's company that we are moving! It is very bitter sweet. I am so sad to leave my great friends we have made here, the 100 churches we have visited, our 1st house, my job, my students, etc. However, I am SO EXCITED becuase we are moving to A-U-B-U-R-N!!!!! War Eagle! We are so excited Ryan's company chose us to go there! He will be working on Dudley Hall.
They are re-skinning it (redoing the outside) It is the theater building I used to walk by every day in college when I lived in the KD dorm on my way to and from class. I can't wait to tell our kids one day that daddy helped build it! I am so proud of Ryan! He continues to amaze me everyday and has been the best husband I could ask for! We are very excited to see what God has in store for us in Auburn...all we know is season football tickets, and honestly, that's our main concern :) Thanks for all of the prayers from friends who have known about this and been there for me emotionally through this transitional time. I am excited to be re-united with some of my Auburn friends as well as creating our new life there! WAR EAGLE!

This weekend was a very good weekend for us. Ryan took me out to his job that has officially finished! He has been there since it was dirt on the ground and all the way until now with this 140 million dollar job, parking lot, landscaping, and 3 fountains! I am so proud of his hard work and so impressed! Just the concept of starting from the beginning, step by step, gives me major anxiety! Here are some pictures I snuck! Yes, I had to sneak them. This building is on the arsenal and after I took pictures we went into Ryan's office. Next thing we knew, we were SURROUNDED by lights and cop cars. They sat there and looked over my shoulder while I deleted them. Boo! I had to get written up for taking pictures of the building! Its a government building with lots of top secret things! OOPS! The cops were laughing about it when they realized they saw me in the hard hat, and was not a felon. They did show me a place I could secretly take pictures if the security guard didnt see me! Ha, way to protect our country cops! Oh well, makes for a good story! Oh and the top picture is a year ago in the middle of this creation! Way to go Ryan Maxwell! I am so proud of you!

We did it! We all finished the 10k! It was hard, but so fun to finish with our good friends! We started the training together. We picked up our race numbers and packets on Saturday. I was 19 Ryan was 20.Joey and Ryan were NOT happy we had signed them up for this. They have come up with every excuse in the BOOK not to do this race. Sick, hurt, rain, cold, you name it, they came up with it. We were so excited we had them trapped!

But they surprised us and actually DID IT! We all finished! Go Harbuck's and Dambro's, aka team Harbro! Joey and Elizabeth at the finish line way after they finished.

Team Harbuck! I was proud I reached my goal of running the whole thing. Ryan was only 1 minute behind me! I was SO impressed!

So the girls successfully dragged out husband's into this with us and we did it!

Ignite!!!

Ryan and I had the pleasure of going to IGNITE at our church from home in Birmingham this weekend. It is a 2 day marriage retreat. We went to it last year and it was AMAZING! Both Ryan and I got so much out of it and refer back to what we learned so many times. So we went again this year and it was so good again! Church of the Highlands is a bitter sweet time for us. WE MISS THAT CHURCH SO MUCH AND KNOW it would help us continue to grow so much if we could have stayed there...However, it is so nice to go back for holidays and times we are back in town as well. SOmetimes we catch ourselves sprawled out on our office floor watching the online messages together, yet we miss the fellowship and the worship. We are so excited about implementing what we have learned this past weekend and last year and look forward to going to this conference each year to keep us on track. Yesterday, on my run, I could not help my pray the entire time for Ryan. I am so thankful for our marriage and every part of our life! God is good!

Great Week...

This has been a really great week...Here are the top 10 reasons why:
10. My sweet brother is a 1st time car owner! I am so proud of him. He has really made some smart, mature decisions lately and I am so proud to call him my brother!
9. My mom is SO pumped I am following in her footsteps to play league tennis like her. She sent a package of a tennis luggage tag, tennis cup, tennis outfit (SO cute!), tennis socks, and of course big cute earrings that she insists you wear when you play tennis, so you are sporty, yet still fashionable :)
8. I ran 4.1 miles on Monday. I am going to try to tackle 5 today. Our 10k is in 9 days. I bought new inserts for my shoes and my goal is to just FINISH!
7.Today is my sweet grandmother's 89th birthday, even though she looks 65. She is so dang cute! My class sang happy birthday to her on the phone, I was scared she might have a heart attack, but she loved it. If you are in my family and have a birthday during the school year, it's tradition.
6.My birthday was on Tuesday and I have never been so happy and content with my life. My hubby, family, Huntsville friends, B'ham friends, students, classroom parents, etc. all made it perfect! Ryan and I celebrated by starting off the day with breakfast and finishing with Ruth Chris...He knows my heart...FOOD!
5. Speaking of food, I have gained FOUR lbs. since I started weight watchers. It has been SO hard with this running because I have been so hungry! BUT the good news is I AM BACK ON IT!
4.I got to see Ryan's parents and sweet grandmother on Sunday. She is the one that just lost her hubby a few weeks ago. She was so sweet and brought me a sunflower cake and we had a wonderful lunch!
3. One of my best friends came to visit for the weekend and it was SO nice to have Sneale-Leeland time. My sweet Huntsville friends held a birthday brunch for me and it was so thoughtful and sweet!
2. Ryan gave me diamond earrings for my 27th birthday. Isn't he great? I am so excited for this gift, ONE becuase its my lucky number and I always play it on roulette, we have talked about upgrading them at certain milestones...its really cool to think that one day when we have kids, anniversaries and other celebrations that the life of these earrings will mean so much!
1. I am starting Pure Barre! I have 4 sessions waiting on me and I can't wait! My bff Jess looks AMAZING from it and hope I can too! :)

PS .these are in no particular order. :) Of course food comes before exercise and hubby comes before food ;)

Ryan's grandfather, Trees, went to be with the Lord Thursday. His funeral service is tomorrow. We have some wonderful family time these past few days celebrating his life and remembering some great memories! We will all truly miss him! He was such a Godly man and a BIG part of this family! I am so proud to be one of his family members...and we are so proud of him!

Birmingham Visit

We had a bitter sweet quick trip to Birmingham last weekend. I was excited to celebrate Ryan's mom's birthday and sweet Holli and her new baby coming so much! We celebrated at La Paz for dinner with Ryan's parents and brother and his sweet baby, our niece, Kathryn. She is so stinking cute! We missed seeing Martha my sister-in-law and Grace Anne! Ryan's brother and his mother at her birthday dinner:

Then Saturday morning I was up bright and early to throw one of my best friend's Holli a baby shower! She got so many cute things and I was so glad to spend some time with her...

and friends Jess and Mols...

Mom snuck in to get me afterwards so we could grab a quick bite to eat with Mrs. Linda! I love spending time with these 2 ladies who mean so much to me and have been such a special part of my life!

We had to rush back home becuase our sweet Buck, Ryan's dog since high school, was diagnosed with heartworm and he had a very extensive treatment. He is doing MUCH better now but has to be on doggie "bed rest" for 6 weeks before ANOTHER treatment. Here is Ryan loving on Buck:

The reason our trip was bitter sweet was becuase of Buck and also becuase Ryan's other sweet grandfather is in ICU. He had emergency hernia surgery and after that his oxygen levels went down and now he is on a ventilator! The sweet Harbuck family has been so much this past year, and Trees (Ryan's grandfather) is such a wonderful member of their family. Please keep him in your prayers that he may heal soon and be back to normal! He has such a sweet spirit and means so much to this family! Trees is on the far right, and his Daddy Ralph, passed away last October. Our grandparents mean SO much to us!

I have started weight watchers again for the 5th time! Ha! Jessica and I were idiots and tried to do it several times in high school, but this time I just want to lose the post wedding weight! I have gained 10 lbs. since the wedding, and Ryan and I both are training for a 10k to get our post wedding weight off. So far I have lost 2 lbs! :) 8 more to go. Ryan has lost 8 already! He has more will power than me and does it on his own. I told him I need to pay someone to weigh me in so I dont let them or wallet down. I really like weight watchers, I know it works, and i love the online tracking system, too! I told Ryan we needed to do a before and after picture, but for you to get a full effect we would need to be in a bathing suit and well, for obvious reasons, we will spare you :) Stay tuned for more weight loss!

Ryan and I both say that this trip has been the best from all of our trips so far (Mexico, NYC, beach, lake, Nashville, Atlanta, Jacksonville, etc.) We had such a good time cheering on our alma mater, but also being with each other, friends, and WITH Auburn. It was so neat to see a swarm of orange and blue everywhere we went. We will NEVER forget this experience for as long as we live! War Eagle! I am so proud to be an Auburn Tiger!

Ryan (and a little of my help) has been working hard on doing some other upgrades on our house, focusing on the kitchen. We got new granite and Ryan did a backsplash and fixed plumbing. I am proud of him and it turned out great! Excuse the pictures they are with my phone. With the light fixture we changed, I love our new kitchen!

The past few weekends have been A.U. f.u.n! First off, thanks Mr. Cam...congrats!

2nd, we spent the SEC weekend in ATL for the game and had a blast with college friends. Here is Ryan with our tailgate group (aka. his frathernity brothers and wives)

Ryan wore the SAME shirt to every game this year, but thankfully we got an AU picture without that shirt since he had a jacket on...can we say superstition?

The weekend before for the AU/UA game my sweet brother and his dog Gabby came to visit. My Huntsville friend Emily Jane came over too! I wish we had our game on video as we watched. We were doing good luck dances, switching seats because they were bad luck, etc.

We had a blast!

...marks our one year anniversary! Best year of my life and looking forward to many more! Ryan planned us a great 1st anniversary trip to one of our favorite towns, Nashville. We shopped and ate in downtown Franklin, enjoyed our stay in the only 5 star hotel in TN and breakfast in bed, enjoyed some quality football time together, a romantic dinner, Sunday brunch, and to top it off a Titans game! This time of year, I can't help but be so thankful for such a great husband God chose for me and thankful for our special times together! Me with our wedding cake and wedding crystal! Our favorite part of the trip! :)

So football has practically filled our lives this fall. minus a few weddings and trips here and there, but we have loved cheering on our Auburn Tigers (and of course, since I am an old Johnson, the Florida Gators) This season we went to these Auburn games: Clemson, LSU, Georgia, Ole Miss. I had the pleasure of going to the biggest cocktail party of the south (UF vs. UGA) and look who I ran into? Auburn friends!!! I spent one night with my childhood best friend Cortnee and then the other night with my aunt and uncle! It was such a fun weekend and I am so blessed to have such great friends and family! Ryan and I love football! SEC champs here we come! War Eagle!

Will be our one year anniversary! I had the great opportunity to go back to Jacksonville to my aunt and uncle's house (our wedding spot) this past weekend! Here I am at the same spot almost 1 year later! I was filled with emotion to be at the spot where Ryan and I committed our lives to each other! Such a great experience!

We had a GREAT weekend in AU and to end the weekend, what better news than to be #1! It's great to be an AUBURN TIGER! I am so proud to have graduated from such a great school with for once a number 1 football team! :) We started off our Auburn weekend with a trip to Mikata, our favorite restaurant to eat at with all our friends! We went to the game with our new Huntsville friends, Elizabeth and Joey Dambro! Yay for new friends! We had fun with them and already have plans again for this week!

I have started sewing again! Thanks to the lovely week long fall break Huntsville City Schools has given me, I am back at it! I love it so much and it is so theraputic! I love to listen to my praise and worship music while I sew and I just get in my own little world!

I actually have been selling kitchen towels in a local store here in Huntsville. I am even about to possibly selling in a Trussville store, as well. I am so excited!

Ryan and I had a great 'family' weekend in Birmingham this past weekend. From family baby showers, church, cookouts, breakfast outings, and quality time, we really enjoyed it. One of things that was a part of our weekend to treasure was seeing Ryan's grandfather, Daddy Ralph. What an amazing man! He is a United States Veteran, strong Christian man, loving husband, amazing craftsman, and has raised 3 wonderful children, 2 daughter-in-laws and has 4 grandsons and 2 grand-daughter-in-laws :)

I have loved this man ever since the first day I met him on HIS wedding day to the sweet Mrs. Margie. I was honored to be a part of their special day. They were a part of our special day back in November, as they danced the night away and showed off their moves. I LOVE THIS picture! Daddy Ralph is in his last few days of life as I type. I tear up just thinking of what a wonderful man he is. Sadly, I have already lost my 2 grandfathers, so Daddy Ralph has been my 3rd one to 'share' with Ryan. I will never forget him telling Ryan that he lost a good one when we broke up in the midst of our relationship...I knew I loved him, ha! Daddy Ralph means so much to us all and I know sweet Jesus can't wait to wrap his arms around him very soon! We love your Daddy Ralph and are so glad we got to spend time with you last weekend!

My father in law, Max, and I joke all the time about how he is my favorite father in law! I know he is my only one that I will ever have, but I got REALLY lucky having such a wondeful set of in-laws!

So I have to publicly confess I made A BIG uh-oh. I am the WORST daughter in law it may seem! I FORGOT their wedding anniversary! Yes, it was on my best friends wedding day, Jess, but there is NO excuse! I make this public confession and hope they had a WONDERFUL anniversary, especially getting to witness another couple start their marriage. Of all times to miss theirs, the first time they have an anniversary that first year I have married their son and here I messed up royally. I hate that I missed it and hope to make it up to them August 28th next year!

I am so thankful to Max and Becky for how great they are to Ryan and me. They are so loving, caring, generous, thoughtful...the list goes on and on. I could not ask for a better set of 2nd parents! We love their visits to Huntsville, our visits to see them, and any emails or phone conversations we can get! I do not tell them often enough how thank we are for them and to have them in our lives! I love Max's text messages, poems on special events, prayers before dinner, funny stories, help with Life insurance, and especially his love for his boys. I love Becky's constant thoughtfulness, random phone calls, gift wrap surplus, great meals, encouragement, and especially her love for her boys. Ryan and I have learned so much from their marriage and thank them for the guidance and impact they have made on our own marriage! We love you mom, dad, Max and Becky! Cheers to many more anniversaries to you that I DONT FORGET!

Jessica, my best friend from high school and college, got married a few weeks ago to HER Ryan as we call it :) It was one of the most fun wedding weekends we have ever been to:

We started off on Thursday night with a wedding party softball game! So fun for all!

Friday was the bridesmaids lunch at The Club and the Rehearsal dinner in Selma at Selma Country Club.

Saturday we had a blast all day sharing this special moment with Jess at her family farm. She was the most beautiful bride I have ever seen!

Fun Labor Day Weekend

We had a great Labor Day weekend! Ryan and I relaxed and enjoyed time together Friday night. He was like a kid in a candy store for football to start. Saturday we had some friends over for the game! Thankfully Auburn won! War Eagle!

We went off to our new Huntsville friends lake house to spend the rest of the weekend. We had a great Wydner Harbuck weekend with them and are so thankful for our new friends! You have to look really close to the far right to see them, but they are there waving! :)

My first week of 1st grade went wonderful! I could not ask for a better school, class, and set of parents. We had a great first week!

Ryan's job is going so well! I am so proud of him for being a part of a 110 million dollar job! He recently was asked to head up the cafeteria that they decided to add on to it, yay Ryan, I am proud of you!

Everyday I stop and think and pray, "Wow God, I am so blessed to have such a wonderful husband". I have always had faith God would provide for me a wonderful husband and hoped that Ryan would mold into that husband...To be honest, I have never had a husband before and Ryan has never been a husband...We really didn't know what we were getting into...

Wow, is all I can say. I am almost speechless when it comes to how amazed I am at how well he has fit into this husband mold. He has been such a wonderful example to me of love. He shows his love unconditionally to me daily. From the nightly foot rubs to the random I love yous for no reason, helping me around the house, his thoughtful prayers over our family, his affection, the way he handles me with calmness and peace, taking care of our dogs, his maturity in situations, his drive at work, his spontaneity to have fun, his random thoughtful text messages, his relaxing spirit, his leadership abilities, his support of things in my life...I mean I could go on and on. He's pretty cute, too. :) One time in college I made a box out of all of our movie and concert tickets, pictures, etc. I put 100 pieces of paper in it to tell him all the reasons I love him...I seriously now could make a box with 1000+. To sum it up, I stand amazed and I owe him so much credit, that I probable do not tell him enough. He is an amazing man. I am honored to call you my husband, babe, I love you! Again, wow...

Everyday I seriously take a step back atleast once, to know I am thankful for so many people in Ryan and my life. This week we had the pleasure of hosting our moms and their best friends. My mom (who I am wearing her wedding dress cut off in the picture above) came with Linda Sain (my 2nd mom) on Tuesday. We watched the recorded bachelorette and ordered pizza. We spent a few hours in my classroom, SO thankful for their help, and then celebrated my mom's bithday at lunch and pedicures! I surprised mom with a famous Huntsville Gigi's cupcake that we all shared! :)

Ryan's AMAZING mother and WONDERFUL friend, my friend too, Jackie Sweatt, traveled here Thursday through Saturday and we enjoy Ryan's softball game, dinners, lunch, an ice cream trip, walks with the dogs, shopping, classroom help, MAJOR classroom help, and great conversation! I am SO thankful to them for their help...my classroom is now finished! Oh yeah, in case you didnt know I got a 1st grade position at a great Huntsville school! Yay!
